Why are there so many wrinkles on a Shar Pei?

The Shaggy has a lot of wrinkles on its body mainly due to a genetic disorder. The Shaggy has a mucin deposition disorder, which is caused by the accumulation of hyaluronic acid (one of the main components of the spaces between tissue cells) in the skin structure. This accumulation results in a very high concentration of hyaluronic acid in their blood. While hyaluronic acid is found mainly in the spaces between the cells of various tissues, hyaluronic acid in the sandpiper continues to accumulate in the skin tissues and blood vessels, ultimately leading to the development of mucin deposition disorder. As a result, we see a lot of folds in the Shar-Pei, especially at a young age, which are particularly deep and numerous.
