Your cat may have worms for a few days after taking the deworming medication and you will need to monitor the cat’s faeces to see the effect of the deworming. It is normal to vomit and have diarrhoea after taking deworming medication. 12-14 hours on an empty stomach, during which time feeding water or with probiotics to regulate the gut will be fine. If the reaction is severe, you should go to the hospital for symptomatic treatment. If your cat vomits worms or sees worms in the poo after taking internal deworming medication, the medication has taken effect. If parasites are excreted for several days, it means the worms are superfluous and you need to bring your cat’s faeces for examination about 15 days after deworming to determine whether to take it again to consolidate the effect.
