What to do if your cat is stressed

Cats have many stress reactions, which can be manifested as gastrointestinal reactions such as diarrhoea and vomiting. Mental reactions can include mania and lethargy. Stress reactions can also cause urinary tract problems in cats, cystitis, urinary closure, etc. The main manifestation is fear of strange people or unfamiliar surroundings. If the cat is fully vaccinated before 6 months of age, the cat can be appropriately exposed to unfamiliar people and environments and trained for socialisation. As an adult, the probability of stress reactions will be reduced.
