Ringworm is a skin disease of cats, most commonly found on the face, trunk, limbs and tail, with round or oval-shaped patches of ringworm covered with grey scales, the coat becoming rough and the fur breaking or falling off in handfuls. Cats infected with ringworm have a severe itch and will often rub themselves against various objects. The disease lasts for a long time and the scales fall off to form bald patches. It is mostly seen in malnourished and weak cats. Increased nutrition, especially B vitamins, is beneficial for the prevention of the disease and the recovery of cats already infected.
