When a dog’s eyelids are red and swollen, and the surface of the eye and full of blood or bleeding, it is called canine red eye. The redness of the eye is further divided into conjunctival redness and corneal redness. Different locations of redness represent different pathological changes and mean that different dispositions, treatments need to be made. Conjunctivitis is not difficult to treat, but it is always safer to have eye problems diagnosed by a doctor so that treatment is not delayed. Therefore, we recommend taking your dog to the animal hospital if you notice red, watery eyes, excessive eye discharge and a lack of energy, as safety comes first.
