How to treat distemper

In the event of distemper, the clinical signs are: fever, loss of appetite, poor energy, runny nose, coughing and other respiratory conditions, vomiting, diarrhoea and severe neurological symptoms. In the event of distemper, the dog should be taken to hospital immediately for fluids and injections, and electrolytes should be replaced to prevent dehydration. Anti-viral treatment such as interferon and monoclonal antibodies are needed. The rest of the treatment should be symptomatic.
