Dogs generally take around 58-62 days (i.e. 2 months) to become pregnant, but the time of labour varies from individual to individual and owners need to judge whether their dog is close to giving birth based on their dog’s behaviour. In the days leading up to labour, dogs may experience a drop in body temperature, loss of appetite, frequent urination and irritability.
