The bulldog is a subspecies of the bulldog, a domestic dog that originated in England in the 19th century and was one of the most aggressive breeds of dogs, and was a very common breed until 1835, when bull teasing was banned in England. Since then, through selective breeding, the breed has gradually become more refined in character. The French Bulldog, English Bulldog, and American Bulldog are the types available. This breed began when a breeder tried to breed an old English Bulldog that was not aggressive. By crossing the docile modern English Bulldog with the brave American Bulldogguin, Bulldog Mastiff, and American Bulldog, he succeeded in eliminating the breathing problems and tail abnormalities of the English Bulldog, while weakening the stubbornness of the other breeds. However, the breed still has a strong aggressive streak and should be noted.
