It is possible. Contact transmission is the main mode of transmission of feline distemper, but it does not mean that cats will not get distemper if they do not go outside. On the one hand, the distemper virus may be present in the environment, and on the other hand, people in the family can bring the distemper virus home and thus infect the cat. Therefore, cats should usually be vaccinated against feline distemper.
