Why do Corgis need to have their tails broken

Corgis were first used to herd cattle, and when a herd of misfit cattle ran off, the Corgi would go up and bite the cattle’s ankles to force them to behave. Because Corgis are short, especially when faced with larger cattle, their own tails would often be stepped on by the cattle, so the Corgi’s tail was cut off.
