There are many types of pancreatitis in dogs, acute, chronic and secondary to other diseases. Severe vomiting and diarrhoea, dehydration, liver and kidney problems, calcification of the pancreas, pancreatic tumours, etc. can all lead to pancreatitis. If treatment is needed, a systematic examination is very, very important. If it is diagnosed as chronic, the main thing to do during subsequent feeding is to take care of the diet, especially if it is high in fats, or overeating.
