The first thing you need to do is to deworm your dog, separating the hair bit by bit and looking carefully for ticks, as well as the feet. Particular attention should be paid to removing ticks that have been bitten into the skin by mouthparts, wiping with alcohol, gently removing when the tick is paralysed, applying anti-inflammatory decongestant ointment and following medical advice to have routine blood tests and blood smears every half month to ensure there are no cellular blood lesions.
