Scratched by a cat: Firstly, take care to disinfect the wound, if it is not bleeding it is not a big problem. If it is bleeding, first wash the wound with soapy water, squeeze out as much blood as possible and wipe it with iodine vapour. The last thing to do is to go to the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention for advice on rabies vaccination, and possibly serum if the wound is very serious, depending on the advice of the local Centre for Disease Control and Prevention doctor.
