What to do if a newborn kitten has lice

Newborn kittens with ticks should be medicated to get rid of them. As kittens are too young, the usual flea repellent medication cannot be used. Dry cleaning powder can be used by rubbing the powder onto the kitten, rubbing well for a few minutes and then cleaning the powder off with a comb and dry towel. However, it should be noted that the mother cat must be given in vitro deworming medication, as the dry-cleaning powder only repels fleas but not kills them, and the fleas that are driven off will run onto other cats.
