A raised bump on the back of the dog’s neck can be caused by medication not being absorbed after a vaccination, or it can be the result of a disease such as a tumour. If it is a hard lump in the area where the dog has just been vaccinated and there are no other adverse symptoms, there is usually nothing to worry about and it will usually clear up in a few days. If this is ruled out, it is best to take the dog to hospital for examination and symptomatic treatment.
