Do not compare human body temperature to that of a dog. The normal dog’s body temperature is about 2 degrees Celsius higher than that of a human, not if you feel hot, it has a fever. Puppies have a body temperature of around 37.5-39.2 and adults have a body temperature of around 37.8-39. Of course it does not mean that a temperature higher than this means a fever, some dogs may have a mild increase in body temperature if they are excited or have just finished exercising. If there is an abnormal rise, it is important to take your dog to hospital as soon as possible.
