Introduction to the Caucasian

The Caucasian is a powerful, athletic dog. It arrived in the former East Germany in the 1960s as a border patrol dog, especially along the Berlin Wall. 7,000 of the strong patrol dogs were disbanded in 1989 when the Berlin Wall was torn down. Many Caucasian dogs were given to ordinary German families.
