Microcephaly is a virus. When dogs are infected with microcephaly, they will vomit and have diarrhoea, and in severe cases they will vomit and shit blood, leading to hypoglycaemia and dehydration shock, and in some cases secondary to intussusception or myocarditis. When a cat is infected with microcephaly, it is feline distemper and the symptoms are also vomiting and diarrhoea and other intestinal symptoms.
