What is infectious peritonitis in cats?

Feline infectious peritonitis is a mutation of feline coronavirus and is common in indoor areas where groups of cats are gathered together. The virus is emitted from faeces and cats usually spread infected litter micro-particles to uninfected cats and kittens by sharing litter trays or using contaminated litter scoops or brushes, infecting cats by ingesting or inhaling the virus.
