What are the symptoms of a sick dog?

Normally, when a dog is healthy, its appetite, mental state and bowel movements are all in good condition. The dog is lively and active, has a good appetite, is excited to see food, and has a good amount of soft and hard stools. Common signs of illness include loss of appetite, depression, vomiting, diarrhoea, cough and runny nose.
