Treatment for Chlamydia infection in cats

Chlamydia infection in cats can be treated with antibiotics and can be treated with doxycycline given once daily at a dose of 10mg/kg orally once daily and must be given continuously for 4 weeks to confirm complete clearance of the chlamydia. If the drug is stopped prematurely, the infection may recur and treatment with oral medication should be continued until such time as the clinical symptoms resolve, after which the oral medication should be continued for an additional two weeks.
