Ticks, also known as “grass crawlers”, like to live in the grass in their natural environment and are more active in the summer months, making it easy for pets to get attached to their bodies when they go out in the grass. Reducing visits to grass and regular in vitro deworming is an effective way to prevent tick bites. Dewormers available include Nixon, Ultra Trust, Follistim, Boleyn and some deworming collars.
