The St Bernard is originally from Switzerland and is a super large dog. It was named after the Abbey of St. Bernard in the Alps. Most of the St Bernard dogs today are crossbreeds. However, the St Bernard is still very gentle and easy to get along with, and is very tolerant and friendly with children. The St Bernard is a handsome dog with a tall, strong, well-built body and a very elegant demeanour at all times and in all places.
