The micro-virus is usually found in dogs with incomplete or no immunisation, usually between 2 and 7 months of age. Dogs with microcephaly will initially show signs of depression, lack of appetite and lethargy, rapid weight loss and vomiting and diarrhoea. In severe cases, blood in the stool may occur and myocarditis may develop suddenly.
