A healthy Shih Tzu can live to be around 10 to 15 years old if the parents feed it properly. There are of course some exceptionally long-lived Shih Tzus that can live to be around 18 years old. As you can see, apart from congenital developmental deficiencies, the length of life of a Shih Tzu has a lot to do with home care.
