Cardiac arrhythmia in dogs refers to abnormalities in the frequency, rhythm, site of origin, conduction speed and number of beats of the heart impulse. It is characterised by an abnormal pulse and irregular heart sounds and causes weakness, failure, epileptic seizures or sudden death. It is usually too much for the owner to handle properly and should be brought to the vet promptly.
