Is it normal for a kitten not to open its eyes for 20 days or so?

Not normal, generally kittens will open their eyes around 7-10 days after birth. If they have not opened their eyes for more than 10 days, the owner should observe whether there is excessive secretion around the kitten’s eyes, when the kitten opens its eyes, the secretion from its eyes may increase slightly, this is normal. If necessary use a cotton swab dipped in saline to gently wipe the discharge. If the kitten has not opened its eyes using this method, or if the kitten has no eye discharge, take the kitten to the vet in time for an examination.
