Is a dog’s yellow tongue healthy?

The normal colour of a dog’s tongue is usually light red. A yellow tongue indicates dampness and heat, while a dark yellow tongue is more likely to be associated with chronic hepatitis. An orange colour is more likely to be seen in acute hepatitis and blood parasites. Changes in tongue colour can be used as a reference for initial diagnosis, but a comprehensive diagnosis must be made in hospital.
