Treatment of urinary stones in dogs depends on the location and type of stone. Internal treatment and surgery are the most common methods. Internal treatment should be preceded by a urine residue test to determine which type of stone is causing the problem, followed by a variable choice of medication. Surgical treatment is used when the dog’s condition is very severe.
