The dog’s umbilical hernia can usually be observed to see if it gets bigger, if not, it can be treated conservatively or left alone. If the umbilical hernia becomes larger, it will need to be repaired surgically. The hernia may be leaking fat, intestines or other organs. Medical advice is needed.
