Distemper must be treated by a doctor as soon as possible. If a Golden is unfortunate enough to have the virus, it can be completely cured with an immune serum and antibacterial medication in the early stages of the disease. Whether hospitalized or treated at home, a warm and dry environment is necessary. Most importantly, take your dog for vaccinations as a puppy, avoid going outside during an epidemic, and never come into contact with sick dogs, their excrement or vomit. There is no effective drug treatment for this disease. The prognosis is poor when the dog shows obvious symptoms, and even if a few dogs tolerate the disease, there will be sequelae.
