The beautiful looking Shih Tzu is the Lhasa Apso and the fierce looking, lion-like Lhasa Apso is the Lhasa Apso. The Lhasa Apso has a narrow skull, the Shih Tzu has a round, wide head with large distance between the eyes and a tail with long, feathery decorative hair that curls towards the back. The Lhasa Apso has a good voice and barks a few times when something is wrong. The Shih Tzu has a cheerful personality and is very friendly to all.
