The most important aspect of distemper prevention is regular immunisation. Generally puppies need four doses of infectious disease vaccine, and it is best to test for antibodies after the vaccination has been completed in order to know the dog’s resistance to the disease, followed by good daily management. Puppies should be kept warm, clean water should be provided and any abnormalities should be seen by a doctor in time.
