Overfeeding can lead to gastrointestinal reactions such as indigestion, which can be mild or severe. Scientific feeding and slightly more frequent meals are recommended. If diarrhoea is caused by overfeeding, probiotics can be fed to regulate the condition. If there are severe gastrointestinal reactions such as vomiting, diarrhoea and loss of mental appetite, medication needs to be checked and administered in hospital. Smaller dogs are prone to accompanying hypoglycaemia.
