Flea larvae and pupae are found in abundance in the home environment such as carpets, foot mats, cushions, dog kennels and garden grass. You can never successfully eradicate fleas without treating the home environment. As soon as fleas appear on the dog, it is important to deworm the dog and then disinfect the environment.
