If you find a tick on your dog’s coat, you have been bitten by a tick. If you don’t find any, you can’t assume that you haven’t been bitten by a tick, as it’s likely that you haven’t found one. You can check for blood-borne worms to do a screening, and if there is a blood-borne infection, you can basically confirm a history of ticks, which are responsible for the majority of blood-borne worms.
