Distemper is one of the most contagious and prevalent infectious diseases in dogs and the treatment period depends on the dog’s level of resistance and can take between 15-30 days. The dog’s temperature is intermittent and the typical clinical signs are respiratory infection and neurological signs. The treatment period requires the use of serum, interferon and, to a lesser extent, symptomatic treatment with medication targeting respiratory infections and antibiotics.
