Dogs with microcephaly are hopeless

Prompt treatment of dog microcephaly will usually result in a 70% cure rate. The signs of a hopeless case of microcephaly are: obvious dehydration, loss of appetite, depression, persistent tomato-like thin bloody stools, emaciation, deep sunken eyes, cold extremities, lowered body temperature and a messy coat. The appearance of the above often suggests that the dog may die suddenly due to electrolyte disturbance, dehydration and acidosis, or sudden death may occur due to myocarditis.
