Distemper after-effects

Distemper is divided into respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological types. The sequelae are due to previous organ damage and commonly include gastrointestinal indigestion, dry nose and foot pads and convulsions. The most serious is the neurological symptom of twitching, which is caused by damage to the nervous system due to viral invasion. These dogs with sequelae will basically never be completely well symptomatically, just not life-threatening.
