The main causes of fetal malposition in dogs are the dog’s underdeveloped uterus, uterine malformation, or the dog’s narrow pelvis, excessive amniotic fluid and other conditions that may lead to fetal malposition during pregnancy. In such cases, the dog can be assisted in labour, or the dog can be pulled out by the vet when the uterus is contracting, or delivered by caesarean section.
