According to the Global Dog Association and experts who have studied and analysed all breeds in terms of temperament, receptiveness to training, obedience and IQ, the ranking of pet dogs in terms of IQ is based on a table in which the Ancient Shepherd is ranked at about 14. The ranking shows that the Ancient Shepherd has a relatively good IQ and is one of the more intelligent breeds.
