Cold weather can cause bears to shiver and grunt. Owners should keep their bears warm in cold weather by laying an electric blanket in the den or making the den thicker. Introverted, timid bears will also shiver and grunt when they are scared in an unfamiliar environment, calling out to their owners for safety. The bear may be sick and shivering and grunting to alert the owner that he or she is not feeling well, and the owner should consult a medical professional once he or she finds the bear in an abnormal condition. Bichon may also shiver when he is in an excited, nervous state. This will be reflected when the bear is playing or sleeping, so you don’t need to worry too much about this.
