Cold weather can cause bears to shiver and grunt. Owners should keep their bears warm in cold weather by laying an electric blanket in the den or making the den thicker. Introverted, timid bears will also shiver and grunt when they are scared in an unfamiliar environment, calling out to their owners for safety.
