The Bichon Frisé (French: Bichon Frisé, meaning “white, curly-haired, playful puppy”) is a small breed of dog native to the Mediterranean region. They do not shed naturally, so their coats need to be groomed. The color is generally white. Originally called the Barbet, it was later reduced to the Bichon Frise. Suspected to be a descendant of the Barbet and Water Spaniel. A petite, robust white powder-puff type of dog with a cheerful disposition, as evidenced by its feathery, cheerful tail curled behind its back and curious eyes.
