Why dogs should not eat chocolate

The theobromine in chocolate can cause poisoning in dogs. The higher the purity of the chocolate the more likely it is that dog poisoning will occur. Puppies can be poisoned even if they eat chocolate of low purity, usually with diarrhoea, vomiting, emotional excitement, etc., and in severe cases death from cardiovascular failure such as cardiac arrhythmia.
