Why do dogs like to eat grass?

Some dogs love to eat grass because of omnivory caused by vitamin and trace element deficiencies in their bodies. Before dogs were kept in captivity, they would eat grasses that were more irritating to the gastrointestinal tract in order to induce vomiting when they felt uncomfortable. This habit has been passed on to them so that in everyday life, when we do not feed our dogs properly, or when they have eaten some messy food that causes gastrointestinal discomfort, they will treat themselves by eating grass to induce vomiting. If the dog is eating grass along with severe vomiting or diarrhoea symptoms, as well as a reduced mental state and decreased appetite, it is possible that the dog has some serious internal disease and it is recommended that the dog is examined and diagnosed at the vet in time for symptomatic treatment.
