Why do dogs bite and not scratch when fighting?

It is worth thinking about this issue, which is not primarily a matter of habit, but is determined by dog genetics. Because dogs do not have clavicles, they evolved to do so in order to make the limbs more adept at running and jumping, thus increasing their ability to survive. However, this also reduces the flexibility of the forelimbs, so dogs are more inclined to mouth bite when it comes to fighting.
