Why do cats shed like crazy in spring?

The main reason why cats start to shed furiously once spring arrives is generally due to seasonal hair changes. When spring and summer arrive, cats shed their fluffy fur and replace it with a fluffy, coarse coat to help dissipate heat and block it. Likewise in autumn and winter, cats are replaced with thick fleece to help keep them warm. So cats actually shed all year round. They should be combed and groomed more often and fed regular doses of chemical cream and cat grass to prevent swallowing too much hair and causing hairball syndrome.
