Why can’t you keep a cat with folded ears?

Because of the genetic defect in which they are born, kittens bred with folded ears are born with a genetic disease that causes lifelong pain, successive bony growths, bone spurs and eventually paralysis. In the initial stage of the disease, the Folded Ear may only be inactive, and will subsequently develop some movement disorders, such as a stiff tail, swollen joints in the limbs, a tendency to lift the front scratch to stand upright, and abnormal nail growth. And, even if a Folded Ear cat does not develop the disease, it will be accompanied by thick joints, deformed paws and feet and a weaker constitution throughout its life.
