There are many reasons for cats to vomit, the first and most common cause is due to gastroenteritis, such as viral gastroenteritis, parasitic gastroenteritis, bacterial gastroenteritis and foreign body gastroenteritis. Secondly, middle and old age diseases, such as pancreatitis, liver disease and kidney disease, will also show the symptoms of cats vomiting water. The location of the cat’s illness can also be roughly determined according to the different colours of the water it vomits. For example, if the cat vomits white mucus, it is usually more often seen in some stomach diseases. If the cat vomits yellow water, it is most likely to be seen in diseases of the small intestine, liver disease or pancreatitis. If the vomit is reddish-brown water, this condition is most often seen in bleeding and ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract. When a cat vomits water, the owner needs to fast the cat from food and water and then go to the vet as soon as possible to check and confirm the diagnosis and treat the symptoms.
