Sudden foot pain in dogs is commonly associated with calcium deficiency, strains (soft tissue injuries), trauma to the foot, arthritis, joint sprains, etc. Injuries, interdigital toe infections, neurological disorders, need to be combined with a physical examination. Some diseases are more prevalent in young dogs and some in older dogs. More complete information from the owner will narrow the differential diagnosis and allow for a more targeted examination.
